It’s a year since InfoSec Twitter both collapsed and didn’t collapse. Those who railed against blue tick accounts for years now have blue ticks and pay for them each month. Both Mastodon and Twitter factions think they have the best platform now, but neither of them are really great. We all ended up poorer based on the whims of a rich guy.
@f7d0478e Depends on your perspective, perhaps. I see myself as freer on mastodon and not so much a slave to the algorithm and "influencers” where followers matter. Sure, we're all split up now, but in many ways that is a good thing. Let those folks that value those things go elsewhere, no judgment, just glad it is separate. At some point, all the retweets and emotional posting have to come with action, or is it all just empty fluff and no one has any true convictions?
@f7d0478e I dunno, I think Mastodon is great! I get all the news in real time and good exchanges with smart people. What I thought Xitter was, but not really.
