@b5820e93 it could be that. I also think that Star Trek discourse was disproportionately dominated by a certain kind of male fan during the 80s. The kind that would have been cheerleaders for that Sad Puppies thing a few years ago. Certain aspects of the way Roddenberry cultivated fans may have contributed to that unintentionally.
