Sweden has officially joined the Artemis Accords, becoming the 38th country to pledge its commitment to principles such as transparency, interoperability, and the peaceful use of space. The announcement came at a ceremony in Stockholm where Sweden's Minister for Education Dr Mats Persson signed the accords. The Artemis Accords are a set of principles and guidelines for international cooperation in space exploration, named after NASA's Artemis program. The accords have been signed by 38 countries so far, including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and Japan. NASA Administrator Bill Nelson welcomed Sweden to the coalition, emphasizing the commitment to exploring the heavens openly, transparently, responsibly, and in peace. Minister Persson highlighted the strategic partnership between Sweden and the U.S. in space research and the space industry. The Artemis Accords are spearheaded jointly by NASA and the U.S. Department of State.
