Oddbean new post about login | logout I think I'm about done with the Mastodon community. The nonstop passive-aggressive demeaning of folks who prefer to use other social media platforms has run me out of patience. The interface here is lovely. Shame the community has a few too many man children that can't face the fact that this place cannot and will not be the official replacement. It can stand on its own, sure, but it will not be the go-to.
@8f4e58cc I'm always surprised and sad when I see posts like this. I guess it really matters who you follow. I haven't seen much at all of that. Meanwhile my bluesky page is a mix of shit posting (fun), follower farming / thirst traps (getting exhausting) and "content". It's mostly good, but also really impersonal, which is a downer and makes me not care to interact much. Idk how to find the right circles there, I guess.
