“Your boss shouldn’t know where you spend your money if they’re paying you in #bitcoin and the merchant that you shop at shouldn’t know what your salary is.” — @ODELL https://video.nostr.build/c4c983f7df94a3b8b618b76f80f7e22c53da11bd1c3ab0aaff80751930c77631.mp4
four year old conversation - still highly relevant today
Please tell this to Warren and FinCen 🧡
How is this even an issue?
Not sure I understand your question. Can you elaborate?
To me the statement is obvious. No one should have unnecessary personal information about you unless you freely give it to them. It is not one's employers business where or how they spend their money. And vice versa. I can't even believe this is a topic for discussion or debate.
I agree, but why would you be paying a merchant on-chain? Even today, this is mostly done on Lightning. By the time most people are being paid directly in Bitcoin, I expect those rails to similarly be off-chain.
Probably a matter of safety too: if you have a lot of BTC anyone could have if they knew the 12 words you know, you don't want to advertise that!
 Mix those coins.
