ive used monero for a while now. my biggest critique is that it is quite hard to use quickly. unless my node has been on and the wallet im using is synced to my node, and even then gotta wait  for confirmations. it works for simple online things where im not in a hurry and just need to nake the payment at some point that day, but monero as-is feels far less usable than lightning in the wild. i think monero needs some sort of batched multi sig lightning esque payment layer to solve for syncing and confirmation delays 🤙 

 FCMP++ upgrade will open up L2 designs for Monero. A lot of work is being put into it by Luke Parker. Should be out sometime next year.
