curious if any of you actually know who this is. https://image.nostr.build/abc55aa1d47948c68ab7ff16fe12f8c4c62b805b522c47831ef18ca154c5c15f.png
don't know the name but I think I reading something like tempting siren at one point
 Deeper and older. Creepier.
go on, sounds demonic now lol
If you trace the symbology back far enough through the empires, you get back to Sumer, and the foundations of what would become Babylon. If I go any farther you’ll creep out every time you’re in the drive thru 😆
I don't do sbux anyway so no harm, not surprised though. Founder is a head case and genius but I'll have to read
From what I’ve read, Im not sure he knew. I think the artist might have misrepresented its meaning back in the 70s. But the crescent moon above, with the Venus star, and the fish scaled legs apart and over her head, all have a very specific symbolic meaning. She is talked about in Revelation 17.
Thank you sir. As always you've given me the beginning of a promising rabbit hole. I'll be reading about it after the weekend 🤝
 Astarte.
Who was the later incarnation of…
 Ishtar.
That is, in fact, a fertility goddess on the logo for Starbucks.
I came late to the party, but . . . I REALLY enjoyed this quote about Ishtar, being rejected by Gilgamesh🥇
"In his refusal of Ishtar's proposal, Gilgamesh compares the goddess to a drafty back door, a faulty battering ram, and a shoe which bites the feet of its owner. This last insult may be viewed as ominous, as in ancient divination, an abrasion from an ill-fitting sandal was considered to be a portent with potentially fatal consequences."
Do more. Its almost every company logo when you deep dive in this topic. That it gets scary.
 siren
 Shallow.
