I've been doing weighted calf extension exercises 3 days a week for a year now. What I'd like to know is if the time will ever come when I can walk normally the day after.

Have had results? I heard calfs improvements depends a lot on genetics.
Not that I can tell, though I like my calves just fine as they are.
Also your calves will nearly never hypertrophy to the degree you want or could even measure woth having a genetically slimmer body type….but to answer your question no you will never walk normally
