Macron remembers French victims of Hamas's 'anti-Semitic massacre'

President Emmanuel Macron hosted a ceremony in Paris to pay tribute to the French victims of the October 7 attack by Hamas on Israel, which he described as the 'biggest anti-Semitic massacre of our century'. The ceremony at the Invalides memorial complex honored the 42 French citizens killed in the attack and the three others still missing. Macron vowed not to give in to 'rampant and uninhibited anti-Semitism' and said France would work for the release of the remaining French hostages. He also mentioned that France would provide an opportunity to remember French citizens killed in the Israeli bombardments of Gaza that followed the attack. The bloodiest-ever Gaza war started with Hamas's attack on Israel on October 7, resulting in the deaths of about 1,160 people, mostly civilians.
