NEW POST - RFK Jr. Is Replicating Bernie Sanders’ Sheepdog Play for MAGA I have come to suspect that RFK Jr. is playing a role similar to that of Bernie Sanders in the 2016 election. Bernie served as a “sheepdog,” using working class populism and “dissident” credentials to herd voters largely disillusioned with the establishment party candidates to vote for one, with the belief being that his endorsement of Clinton would somehow “push her left.” Now, RFK Jr. is using working class populist rhetoric and his Covid dissident credentials to herd voters disillusioned by Trump and Biden-era Covid policies into the Trump fold.

Or he is just trying to start with the biggest problem in the world first-perpetual war. Conceding in a losing battle is not an express indication of cowardice or corruption. In this case it is clearly pragmatic, in my view.
And trying to beat down every political motion as a strong hand of a political play for profit demeans the objectivity I thought I'd been hearing from you, Mrs. Webb. Trying to implicate RFK in this post seems more profit and attention motivated than RFK's concession with Trump.
I'm sure you know more on the subject than I do but I very much doubt RFK's intent is profit as much as I doubt that Trump knew the implications of his company while in office.
Interesting take. What if RFK jr knew that he could not win and figured the best play he could make would be throwing in with Trump? If his goal is to maximize the pain for the swamp creatures.
I'm not convinced. Sanders is pure politician. He offered nothing but more politics. RFK is primarily an activist in the environmental and pharmaceutical spheres, and what better way to raise one's profile and to be heard than to run for the presidency.
It became clear that RFK wasn't going to be "selected", so he found the next best way to retain his profile and possibly even some influence in the matters that concern him most - pharma, agrochemical and regulatory corruption.
To be sure, the corruption is on both sides of the unaparty, but who can make anything positive of a group so deeply mired as the Dems?
That’s indeed the outcome but I’m not convinced that it was pre-planned (if that’s what you’re suggesting) either for Bernie or #RFKjr . Bernie got robbed with the primaries and RFKjr got cancelled by the mockingbird media and the lawsuits. I’m not excusing RFKjr to have dropped out. He could and should have stayed in the race. My take is that #Trump staged assassination attempt was aimed to be used to talk RFKjr into dropping out hence I think RFKjr got played out. He think they will let him clean up the federal agencies if Trump is elected but I bet that very quickly a scandal will put on his back and he will have to step aside of any position of power.
