@06d3112a I recommend Habitat for Humanity. Their Restore outlets sell good quality used furniture. Sales fund building and repair of homes in your area.
They will pick up from your home or you can take donations to their stores. I was very pleased that I was able to donate a lot of gently used items before I moved cross country. There is no better cause.

I second this suggestion from the other side of the equation - when my youngest was furnishing her first apartment on a shoestring she found many nice pieces at a price she could afford.
