2 years ago the initial block download took 48 hours on a pi and less than 36 on a compute. It depends on hardware obviously.
Today it has been over 4 days and I’m only at 80%.

The extra “stuff” we are storing is getting bigger and bigger really quick. What is the fix?

You wouldn’t believe how quick it was ten years ago.
I can’t even imagine. Hopefully I will look back in 10 and be able to say the same thing.
Do you know of a way to speed it up?
just pretend you've entered a time machine, you're blasting through blocks in the timechain much faster than new blocks are being created, such that you have the memory to store the entire ledger, you'll catch up to present day, all in good time. the initiation to the network that it makes the individual stop and think of the power you're holding with a key and we'll fashioned utxo set.
I can do that for sure. I would like to be on a Time Machine. Blasting off is my thing. The question is will I die before I reach the end of this trip? This thing is too slow. I might give up on synching this one. It went from 79% yesterday to 81% today.
ah lol. yes maybe just too weak of a machine. I last synced my start9 node about a year ago. it didn't take more than 2 days I believe it was.

good luck with your quest!
Thanks man. The Rasp Pi is dead for running a node…. I’m off to find a mini pc.
Thanks man. You were right. It’s been 7 hours with the new machine and the ibd is at 21%.
