Never heard of the SBB vending machines to reject a card. Try to get some CHF cash, normally at any train station the staff should be able to help… BTW at the SBB machines it’s possible to buy BTC 😂

Transferwise is a joke nowadays. I used it a lot in the past, was very happy with their service and I even had my bank account in Canada linked to my TW account for convenience. But some months ago, to use it for Euros as I always did, they asked me to send them first a picture of my passport and a selfie. No f*cking way!

yooo SBB accepts bitcoin. at any ticket vending machine you can pay in bitcoin and they even let you buy bitcoin up to chf 500 kyc free🤣

With their attitude to block for security reasons any payment through the internet at a non multinational company in a foreign country credit card companies do not decrease the speed of their own demise in favor of bitcoin. Concerning your issue: For a national train ride in Switzerland you do not require a seat reservation. You can buy your ticket on spot and even pay with cash. Only their "Supersaver Ticket" are cheaper than buying at spot, but those are only valid for the train you bought the ticket for. So, your flight is delayed and the money is gone.
