Discovery for creators is an absolute nightmare. You thinking of getting back into webrings or something?
@6d5fa5b5 I've heard people age 20 basically re-inventing this idea! I dunno what the future holds, but as for myself I'm drifting more into bookwriting.

That's a tricky one because I check smbc as part of my routine (don't have RSS) so that's where I find out about your books and sometimes back/ buy them.

My personal Facebook experience has become abysmal. I can't even see my friends posts half the time. IG is a mess with a constant barrage of right wing propaganda! So weird!

i also would like to add Hashtags

You can search for Hashtags to discover people you would not have found otherwise, and you can directly follow Hashatgs to have anything in your newsfeed about your favorite topics and artwork

Unfortunately, i think Hashtags are the most badly underused feature here, so please use them and get found

Well! Turns out that I have some thoughts on that.

This is a fairly in-depth guide explaining why # don't always work and some other tips and tricks you can use. I'm confident it's up to date as of today.

Honestly I have nothing but sympathy for creatives for this sort of thing. Twitter's past the point where anyone really wants to be associated with it, but there's also just no way to get reasonable attention for things that you want to promote/sell/share.

It's frustrating, really, because it's things that groups of people would want, if they knew you were selling them, but with bots and spam and siphoned off media, most of your market is unaware.

Well, a lot of creatives have found their way to the better moderated Fediverse. They've brought beautiful books, art, games, music and all sorts with them. People who enjoy such things are generally supportive but it's much harder to get your messages and your work in front of others.

Boost them along, and perhaps sometimes throw them a coin, if so moved? Certainly publicity always helps eh?
