I don't think you need the things you listed to entice people. (Reddit/subreddits have none of those things really).
This is the complaint you hear about nostr over and over. Why? Could it be that the onboarding set up pushes people towards bitcoin content and personalities? Partly, maybe. Nostr is predominantly bitcointwitter people, I think that is fair to say (?). There's a lot of bitcointwitter slogans, in-jokes and memes and etc, I think that is also fair to say(?). I think this is just the situation and it's not really surprising. But it is also putting people off. I don't think this is really that outlandish 🤔
Yes there are other topics, but perhaps not enough or enough conversations around them to keep people interested.
Maybe you think there is nothing to the complaints? I'm not sure.
Reddit has all of the things, porn & toxic convo included & more but that's a bad example because they leveraged in use forum structures & just allowed for everyone to build out their own communities meanwhile not forcing anyone to sign up to read it.
Why do all these Bitcoiners create a presence on Nostr?!
This is a much more intelligible conversation than the inverse: "how do we dilute Bitcoiners on Nostr".
Bitcoiners, at large, are attracted to freedom & anti-coercion protocols even if inconvenient compared to alternatives.
Re: we're willing to sacrifice more & obtain less.
This is a pioneer's mentality.
Most people can't be part of that building environment of paving way for future users / communities to migrate to Nostr.
As of right now, most people who share novel content don't care about censorship so much that they're willing to basically cut their audience by 99% or waste time building their audience on something that is highly inconvenient.
People feel like if they leave the most used social medias that they are essentially accepting censorship & are basically leaving the global conversations & trends in the rearview mirror.
Guess what tho? Where is the best place to ask about Bitcoin related topics? ->#asknostr
