What are the best services to point new nostriches to in order for them to discover quality accounts to follow?
https://nostr.band
Not sure about quality
nostr.band is a good one where you can search topical, people, npub, keyword for fellow nostricists
Thanks, please enable zaps!

I think I works well following hashtags. Just block the noise as you go and follow the cream of the crop. You will always have fresh stuff coming your way.
I built my follow list slowly over time by seeing who commented insightfully or zapped stuff I found useful. A faster but not so fancy solution would be to find one person they like and trust and just follow everyone that person follows.
Exactly, I follow a handful of people I know and like and I add/remove a few accounts that I interact with day to day. Don't hesitate to drop someone who is an asshole. (Same advice applies in real life btw.) If your feed is sparse, look at someone else's follow list and add a few new peeps, but first look at their profile to see if they are active. Lots of accounts just go dead; I guess they don't do the work to curate their feed and get bored. Rarely, I will plumb the depths of global and find a decent follow. I like to find active pleb accounts in places with the shittiest currencies and send fat zaps. Amethyst auto translate makes this possible. Props to @Vitor Pamplona and all other contributors. 🙌 BTW, any good Turkish, Nigerian, or Argentinian account recommendations? Zapping and quality replies are stronger signals than likes.

Found out later today that someone is working on importing follows lists during key generation/client setup: https://onboardstr.vercel.app/ https://github.com/smolgrrr/onboardstr
> quality accounts Jameson, why do you discrimate against shitposter accounts? omg triggered
I barely have time to read my own shitposts, much less anyone else's.
They could use @primal to follow their favorite influencer’s feed.
https://satellite.earth The tricky thing with Nostr is that it wasn't designed to recommend who to follow; That was done on purpose. But it's a feature that has been bolted on by some clients, perhaps due to Twitter nostalgia. However, Nostr offers a clever trick: If you know of a npub, you can log into a Nostr client with that npub in read-only mode. If you like what you see, then you now have a list of people to follow.
This looks promising. Copy your own follows and relays to a new account. https://onboardstr.vercel.app/
