Oddbean new post about login | logout This whole issue with graphine crashing my audio-related apps is really starting to piss me off. Almost enough to make me want to switch operating systems if it persists. I've tried the recommended things like turning on compatibility mode and allowing the app to do whatever code review that it wants to. Is there anything that I can do to fix it? Or is it on the app developer to switch to a more updated version of whatever the fuck is causing this thing to crash? I genuinely don't understand the problem and I think that's what's frustrating the most. #grapheneOS
I'm also pretty sure everything is up to date. I just checked after this most recent crash. And im not on stable like I was Recommended.
I can't even get through a half an hour podcast without restarting the fucking audio about 5 times.
I don’t know what app your using but have you tried @Podverse? They have a F-Droid version. https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.podverse.fdroid/

Antennapod and audiobookshelf mainly.

I'm guessing that at this point there's not much I can do other than try to find an alternative app or something because I don't necessarily think it's Graphenes fault, but I also don't really know.
I just tried Antennapod, works without a glitch. Maybe a weird permission problem?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ if the issue persists I'll probably try the nuke and pave option and just reinstall graphene. See if a fresh install helps.
Fountian app audio crashes while left long enough in the background, to resolve I force close app and open again. No other apps i use have audio issues.
How strange and frustrating. I know it's not helpful to hear but I've not experienced this issue and I absolutely hammer the audio all day everyday on AntennaPod and NewPipe.

Can confirm having no audio issues with Graphene on a Pixel5. I sometimes got random app crashes when Google Services were updated by Google Play. To check go to the Apps app and reinstall Google Play services if the Available version is lower then your current one. Should look like this: https://m.primal.net/Hpwk.jpg
Have you checked battery optimisation is disabled for those apps?
