On this day in 2010 I was a solo mama with two kids under 2. I wrote my dream:

My ten year plan... spend two or three years travelling the world with my two (teenage) kids. Jeez, that'll be mean :)

----

Fast forward to August 2020, I'm married, blessed with a third child and we were six months into our #digitalnomad life. 🙌

Today we are 4.5 years into slow travelling and #worldschooling with four kids. ✈️

I wish I had made it my five year plan instead of ten. 😅

If you have a dream, believe in it. No matter how ridiculous it seems at the time. Dreams are meant to be lived. Don't ever let go of your dreams. ✨ https://image.nostr.build/8bc2a9e95b2d9e2bb620b2f5066c10b79c15cedfcf498fa0af02f4798a232588.jpg
This is absolutely amazing. Congrats. Truly informing.

We overestimate what we can do in one year and underestimate what we can do in ten years.
 Thank you. 🙏

And absolutely true! I could never have predicted the incredible life I am blessed to live. I'm so glad I had the courage to follow my dreams. ✨💜
 Well done.
Lucky partner ;)
I think I'm pretty lucky he's happy to come wherever too 🥰✨😍
Wow! Great story, Melissa. Keep on living your dreams. ✊🏻
 Thanks Thomas 🙏

And of course! It is what we're here to do ✨💜💯
 Super inspiring!
Thanks 🙏 I'm so glad you found this inspiring. 💜💜💜
PS: What do you mean with World Schooling? I know home schooling. 🫣
We are unschoolers (self-led eduction) and travel the world. Kids learn with the world as their educational system, picking up a bit of language and culture as we travel. 😍 There are a lot of families living like this! 💯🙌
Ah ok. Then I know what is meant 👍🏻
Very inspiring, thanks for this note! 🙌

First, I was thinking in homeschooling for my daughter. Then I knew about unschooling and thought "that's awesome, I like this idea more than homeschooling". And now I come to know about "worldschooling", it's mindblowing, I got so much to learn!

Nice. Happy for you that you are living your dream. Hong long do you stay aproximately in each countries you visit?
We have 3 kids and are doing homeschool. We started it 2 years ago. We have to check unschooling.
We recently flew to Mexico for 4 months to give birth to our 3rd kid and we loved the experience.

Wow that's great you went to Mexico for 4 months! What an awesome experience 😍

I prefer 3 months in one place minimum. Since number 4 arrived (early 2022) we have been more like 8-12 months per location & also we have to consider visas and doing visa runs. Our toddler isn't a great night sleeper (& doesn't seem to need much sleep in the day either 😅).

We are approaching a little bit of fast travel, and hopefully will settle somewhere for another 6 or so months early next year! 🤩
Yes that was a great experience. So many things happened for us there and on top of that we got permanent residency thanks to our kid. We plan to move there for at least 1 year and see how it goes.

When it's possible, 8-12 months seems to be a good strategy. This give time to settle a little bit and to enjoy the place.

Hopefully you will find a place to stay for a little bit 😄
Yes! We always land in a good spot by some mysterious way. It's part of the enjoyment of travel for us 💯🙌
 Indeed 🙏
