Regardless of your opinions on Palestine/israel, or even the protests on campuses… What I can’t get out of my head are videos I’ve seen of police geared up more than soldiers in Afghanistan beating young college women and girls with batons and pepper spray as they hold their hands up. The military police state in the U.S. has been quite robust for some time, regardless of the administration in power at federal and state levels. Our obsession with violence and power in our highest institutions is an irreversible stain as large as slavery was to the inception of our nation. This is nothing new, but it’s so painful to see every time.
It is indeed painful to see the horrific behavior of your country and allies. I find it interesting to hear from Chinese people about world events (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFtVVdbZWQs) This video includes surveys of Chinese people, and shows the vast majority of them having quite different opinions than Americans. The language-barrier-based echo chambers are real. And while I traffick in circles with anti-American sentiment, I suspect even I am not aware of all the shit America has done that is common knowledge in China.
True. Getting an outside viewpoint is good.
It's the US government showing it is Israel's bitch... Apparently Benjamin Netanyahu can state what needs to be done, what the situations is, and without thinking US actors will execute that will. Like a request from a mafia boss to corrupt police, but worse... I hope good people will finally wake up to this reality, because it is not the US president who decides things in the US... The US government has, like big tech, like big pharma, like the militairy industrial complex, been captured!!
Remember Kent State? Same state, different date. Monopoly on violence.
Would you be able to post some of that stuff in the comments or link to it. I'm outside of the loop on this one. I know thought that the militarisation of the police across the western world has really fucking ramped up since covid.
How long were they blocking the civil rights of other students?
move to New Hampshire. buy lots of guns.
Once you know who you're not allowed to speak against, you'll know who runs the government... nostr:nevent1qqsxv6s4d6e75jzfrcx59d9shajz3mmqqspfgzvflk0refezwej6nvspz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfdupzp42ptgcn6wzxrlun4rqhp72pktx55e49eldmpy6qd9s0dje30pylqvzqqqqqqyunekat
