My mom vapes, but smoked for 20 years before that. She is adamant the tobacco puts her ulcerative colitis in remission. Every time she would quit, the colitis would return. She had a doctor at one time that agreed with her off the record. It is a stress related auto immune disorder, so I can't argue with her.... but definitely healthier ways to combat it. She's now 65 years old now, has COPD and on oxygen full time... so yeah smoking is a hard no for me. The health risks of smoking far outweigh any possible "benefits".
I’m sorry about your mom. Must be hard for her but also for you to see her like that. Hope she finds healing soon enough!
We’re all free to choose how to live our lives, but promoting a toxic habit like smoking will never be ok in my book.
I've had a change of heart about smoking over the past few years. It really is bad for you. But if it can be used as a substitute for hard drug abuse it may be therapeutic. Especially with the advent of vaping, which may be less destructive. But apparently equally satisfying.

For people that vap but used to smoke how does it compare for you? Is it equally satisfying as cigarettes? I'd really like to know. Of course I don't smoke or take any drugs. So my experience is limited..🤔
Mom made the switch about 11 years ago. She really enjoys the different flavors that are available. She was hesitant to make the switch, but did at the urging of my brother because his wife was having a baby and felt it was less harmful for baby to be exposed to. She never went back to smoking. Vaping is more socially acceptable, I think, as the smell is much less offensive.
 Thank you. 💓💓
Yes, it's important to remember that everybody makes their own choices, as hard as that can be sometimes. Everybody is on their own journey/path. 😎
