9 months ago I was able to upgrade from a Pixel 7 Pro to a newer, yet smaller Pixel 8. I assumed a free upgrade would be fine. After all, it was free. I assumed that I would not miss the larger screen, larger keyboard, and telephoto lenses on the camera "downgrading " from the larger Pro version to the regular version.

I WAS WRONG!

I have never made more typos than I have over the past year. I just cannot get used to this smaller screen and keyboard. It's been 9 months and I still make so many damn typos.

I miss the more powerful camera! I have taken many photos of things from a distance and wished that I was able to zoom in to get a more clear photo. This hurts.

I don't know if I can wait another year for a free upgrade. I may get the Pixel 9 Pro when it launches here soon.

Rant over.
I'm torn to what I wanna do for my next phone. I upgraded to a larger phone and miss being able to text with one hand, but at the same time, it is now easier to type with two.
I go back and forth with swiping and two handed typing. No real rhyme or reason 😂
ambidextrous dyslexic; is this real or a dating app?

It's my muscle memory. I keep hitting n and m instead of space or backspace more than anything.
I feel your pain bro. Have you tried the swipe typing feature? When my fingers go retarded I switch to swiping for a bit and move on
I used Swype back when it came out and then swipe when it came to the stand Google keyboard. I don't know why but I find myself randomly switching between the two. Maybe if it's super important I'll type normally, but if it's quick or I'm in the middle of something else I'll swipe? I dunno.
The only thing I miss from stock android on graphene is the slipping keyboard feature, much faster to write.
You can use gboard and just block its internet access. No worries that it’s phoning home to google every character you type.
 I don't trust it, thanks
Knowing how graphenes firewall works I can say it’s safe but fair play mate. Can’t fault you for not trusting them.
 download the futo keyboard
 Will try it, thanks
Oh it looks very nice, I'm using it now!
I always loved having a larger phone screen. But I got sick of carrying one around because they don’t fit in pockets as well. Every time I get a new phone I fight with myself over which size to get and end up going with the smaller one. Then wonder for several years if it would be nicer having a bigger screen.
This makes me feel like I am an Apple zombie hehe did not know all these phones existed.
Come join us on Android! The choices and freedom are great!
 Just embodying nostr's #typostr, showing you're juman 😊
😂😂 I struggle between edit note and delete because no one sees the edits besides Amethyst
 This is true 🥲
When you have kids, optical zoom is a must have.
Agree. Kids are the whole reason I stopped rooting and ROMing my phones. I didn't want to attempt to take a photo and have my camera crash.
 Big fingers need big screens
 I need a man's screen 😂
So when I get the pixel nine, I need to get the pro?

Noted

I’ll be switching from Apple for the first time since the first iPhone .
it's a great phone, thank you derek
I think 9 is going to be a solid choice. 10 is going to be huge for the G5 but I also don't mind to wait for the G6 to let them iron out some of the processes for their own chips. Plus now that my screen's pixels are dying I kind have to talk up the 9 to myself 🤣
Google's SoC needs to work on battery usage. Beyond that, it's great!
Yes I alternate between an iPhone 13 and an 8, and it’s typo city on the small screen for me as well.

Both phones are refurbishes, new to me. I’d been milking my iPhone 6+ for ten years lol but if finally got ran over.
This keyboard might be a bit better. I don't know if you have tried it.
