I'm too lazy and Nostr search too nonexistent to look for the note, but I'm sure one of my first postings when I first joined Nostr was about how there would be no rate cuts until the election was near.

They would try to keep them high for as long as possible to see if the inflation was tamed, which would bring some votes. But it was long decided that they would bring them down before the election, just enough to produce some vote-inducing headlines and, more importantly, money for the final sprint to the election from rich donors who want low rates to continue the massive accumulation of assets of the last decade.

The consequences can be dealt with after the election, if they deal with them at all. They can raise the rates again, or lower them further and go back to printing. It doesn't matter, that's for later. Rigging the election comes first.
 Your prediction was end of 2023 😅 - nostr:note1xqtnp087w8dqezkawsnqth6p5gst4zz25svkdacj4s7vufpyh4fsu5r5lp

This cut feels like it’s been telegraphed unlike any other though. Not sure they’re worried about taming inflation either way, there’s a spendathon coming regardless of the election outcome.
I'm sure I said it long before then. Not sure when I first joined actually, but I think at least early 2023?

I do remember though that market predictions for rate cuts have been high several times these past couple of years, and every time I said "not until the elections", as it has just happened. They did telegraph this one, but it was about all the prior ones that never happened.

I agree that they don't care one way or another about inflation or the economy, that's my point. It's 100% a political tool to benefit the Democrats in whatever way.
Ah, now I've re-read it and I see that you're right. I said end of 2023 for a rate hike. I must have read some piece of news or something, and posted? But I've been saying no rate hikes until the elections for years. Anyway, thanks for the call out!
 Early March 2023 you joined.

Nostr.band is really good for search (except I wish @brugeman would Nick off that fuckin Nostrin bot which spams results).

Use the advanced search for date ranges which he implemented after I requested. Search your npub and a word you would have used in the post and you should be able to find what you’re looking for. I regularly use it to reference my old notes but I have exceptional recall which helps a lot. https://i.nostr.build/aP83iHFu1hQZU2xD.jpg
Just days ago I improved a thing and nostrin shouldn't be there anymore. Please let me know if you find it in some search results again.
Will check and report back 🤙
You mean with this npub 😎
