Imagine making an OS that encourages other companies to push driver updates that run in kernel mode without offering any way to automatically revert those changes if said company fucks up. If it can be fucked up, it will be fucked up.

They put ads in the operating system and force close applications for auto-install when you’re not looking too. That operating system has been borderline hostile towards its users for over a decade.
A long time ago, while learning Visual Basic, I needed to access the built-in documentation to read up on some methods. However, I couldn't do it because the Windows shell had been locked up on purpose, which blocked access to Explorer. That was fucked up. So, I took a Windows bootable floppy disk and booted from that so I could unfuck the fucked up.
