GrapheneOS is not as scary or inconvenient as you might assume it is! It's basically just Android, but more secure and private... Overwhelming majority of apps function perfectly and if they don't you can use a progressive web app to access them via a web browser. The minor sacrifices in convenience are well worth the leaps and bounds gained in security and privacy. If you're interested, I would encourage you to look into it. If you like your money open source, why not your phone too? After all, it is the most personal connection you have to the internet, pay attention to what you're sending out... It's your permanent record.

Some bank apps will not work and Google Pay & Android Auto will not work either.
Thanks for sharing that. I consider those pros
I got my mother in law on GrapheneOS on her request. It's easier for her to use as there are no apps on the phone now she doesn't use. Only the essentials and zero bloat. She loves it, since beginning of the year.
 Awesome
 This is awesome
Maybe there is something here. One could make a good argument for GrapheneOS just by stating it comes without apps pre-installed:
We will just be installing your WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram on it (*internal screaming*) and you won't have 20 apps there that you never use and which only 1. Confuse and distract you 2. slow the phone down 3. Take up memory/storage space 4. Drain the battery.

I flashed my pixel with Calyx at the time. I can’t remember the reason why I choose that over Graphene. I think some dev drama or something?

If I wanted to switch to Graphene would the steps be the same for flashing coming from Calyx?
I don't have experience with Calyx. You could revert back to the stock Google os then install graphene that way
Been using it as daily driver for 3 months now with no real issue.
