@:niggy: @anime graf mays 🛰️🪐 seconding that we need more of those
does TOR favor speed? like, if I set one up would it put a bunch of people on that exit (or relay) or would it just pick at random? i dont know much about TOR other than people like to use it to upload illegal content
yes nodes advertise their bandwidth, can configure it as well to underutilize if you want was a bit of a meme answer though as I only recommend it with a cooperative ISP, you'll get flooded with spam/hacking abuse complaints so be well prepared if you do
the ISP that this server is hosted with is the current KF host. they finally delivered in a new datacenter lowendtalk.com/discussion/188074/win-a-10gbps-blade-server-in-kansas-city-with-cosmicguard-ddos-protection-plus-pre-order-special so i dont think they really care about any of that tbh
@anime graf mays 🛰️🪐 @:niggy: it's random but proportional to your bandwidth capability and (I think) node reputation. People do bad things on Tor yes but it's a technology that will be increasingly important to normalize in the future with tier 1 ISPs starting to act as jannies.
