Been playing around with cashu.me. I am using coinos and lnserver as my mints. It worked good sending sats from primal to cash.me. And back over lightning. I’m having a little trouble understanding how to send as ecash. I tried sending between my two mints and couldn’t figure out how to do it. And sats would kind of disappear when I tried. @ODELL @calle 👁️⚡👁️ @LNServer @Coinos
did you use cashu . me for to generate the ecash you wanted to send?

If so they should be listed in the history on main page of the PWA, if you pull down it shoud refresh to see if they are pending.

tap on one of them, either scan the QR with another cashu wallet or copy the cashu note and share it with you recipient.

or... redeem it yourself but copying the cahsu note and then tapping on receive ecash in cashu . me and paste it there.

let me know how you go
I had some success copying the ecash and sending it to the same mint. Going between mints is where I was having issues….im still fuzzy on the current use case of sending as ecash vs lightning….do I have to be sending to another user of the same mint?
when you send the ecash, in current spec, the mint url is embedded in the note.

The ecash you create from mint A is only 'redeemable' from mint A. You and the final recipient need to communicate with mint A (to mint/melt)... mints B, C, D won't care for ecash from mint A, and vice-versa.

When you share ecash with another user, if they dont have that mint connected they will be prompted to add that mint to their list (asking whether they trust them or not).

If the recipient wants to move ecash from mint A to mint B (as they might trust B more), then they would do a swap between mints. Under the hood a LN invoice is generated and paid between the mints, sats will be sent, and new ecash minted to user in mint B. fuckin' magic.

Sending ecash is actually just creating a token with the value you want to transfer, and sending it to your recipient any way you want. Ecash is a bearer instrument, meaning it's like cash. Anyone who gets your token can redeem it in their wallet. Unlike lightning, it isn't linked with a particular recipient, so always treat your ecash tokens like cash.
That is helpful. But whoever I send my ecash to has to redeem it for sats at the mint where the ecash was created right?
Yes, that's correct. When they redeem it, it will automatically add their mint to your wallet if you don't already have their mint in your list. Cashu.me Wallet provides a lightning swap feature to easily move ecash from one mint to another, or you can do it manually yourself, but it's a pain in the ass. The Cashu.me swap feature is easiest, most painless way to do it.
Okay but if I send you ecash but I redeem it at the mint first don’t I get it back? https://wallet.cashu.me/#token=cashuBo2Ftdmh0dHBzOi8vbWludC5jb2lub3MuaW9hdWNzYXRhdIGiYWlIAE963yoENWxhcIGjYWEBYXN4QDkwZmUyZGUyOGYyMTBhZjk0NDBlYTNlYWQzNzZmZjE4ZDAwOGY0OWJhYmMzMDI0OWI3MmE5MTc3ZjdmNjYxNDhhY1ghAoUAhCbyk9CoiUl36u33DyEvZP6pboIbBF_MVM78zqsS
Tokens are one-time bearer instruments. You can't double-spend a token. So if you send me a token, but you redeem it first, it will fail if I then try to redeem it.
