Monero is to money as end-to-end-encryption is to instant messaging. You wouldn't donate your entire chat history to a company or a government, and yet you do this with your financial life? #monero
What do you think about Lightning privacy?
It's not good enough. Most people use it in a custodial manner because it's so difficult to achieve by yourself. For others, you can see Seth for privacy. He does a lot of really good explanations on things like that.
Have you ever bought anything with monero?
Oh, all the time. I use Monero for purchases several times a month.
Every week pretty much.
Weed?
Find a monero directory site, and you'll see that what you can buy with Monero goes very far beyond buying vegetation!
Monerica?
Much better than bitcoin onchain, much worse than Monero. Stepping outside the privacy sphere, it (LN) has issues with centralization, liquidity, potential for getting rugged if offline for too long, etc. I don't know if it will be the ultimate solution, but it at least makes Bitcoin usable as peer-to-peer digital cash, and in my book that's a good thing.
Better than on chain Bitcoin, but lightning receiver privacy is non-existent and hidden balances are discoverable. Ecash is great privacy, but custodial. Pick your poison.
