There is a trick: olas means waves, but in Spanish there is also Hola which means hello… in Spanish they are homophones, both words are pronounced the same, Pablo has played with this and that is why the current logo is a waving hand and waves in the background… it is an interesting detail that can help
Yes, AND also I was actually looking for a Greek word and thought of όλο which ended up taking me to όλος which is a declination and from that I thought that it sounded similar to olas and holas 😅😅

In Bluesky they used two techniques that are underrated but brought in a lot of users: the first is an interface similar to what they wanted to supplant, Twitter, this made those who come feel familiar with the app without having ever seen it before and achieved more user retention, in Olas it is already very polished… the other technique is the logo: they used the same color tones as the old Twitter bird logo that most people yearned for and replaced it with their white butterfly just like the Twitter bird… in Olas you could pull nostalgia against Instagram with these ideas and maybe it would manage to attract more users and who knows if it would help to keep them too 👀
