😂 where can I travel and live for a week on Tron?
A Bitcoiner friend of mine came back from El Salvador about three months ago. He said literally no one would take Bitcoin. He was able to use USDT several places. I've used USDT in Southeast Asia (Vietnam and Thailand) much more often than Bitcoin. I think I've seen videos by nostr:nprofile1qqs034ppyjnjakycjcj84kgj737aw6kxkmxazrlp0r67qjk0atgdfgspz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhszythwden5te0dehhxarj9emkjmn99usy20wr in Europe where they couldn't take Bitcoin, but did they did take stable coins. Tron is by far the biggest network for stable coins. Where can you live on Bitcoin outside of circular Bitcoin economies?
Oh wow. I never seen USD accepted in Thailand

It's not common at all. My experience is that any crypto or Bitcoin is the same practically: virtually no one wants to take them, so you can cash out from a local exchange to local currency. People do generally want and understand dollars as the best currency. That's an easier sell than Bitcoin for now. I did use lightning twice in Vietnam. There's an app called Neutron pay that connects Vietnamese banks to a lightning wallet. My Vietnamese brother-in-law asks for USDT any time I want to send him Bitcoin.
Totally get that! Cashing out to local currency is so much easier! But hey, it's cool that you used Lightning in Vietnam. Always fun to explore new ways to send money! 💰🌍
Usdt in El Salvador? I’d love to investigate!

Yah I’ve seen it a bit but it’s way less prevalent than btc.
That's great to hear. I was bummed to hear my friend's experience. He did spend a lot of time in smaller towns, so maybe that's the difference
