So there's some confusion about Coracle's private groups stuff, which boils down to it seeming like they don't work/exist.
What's actually going on is they rely on NIP 44 support, which is only available right now if you log in using your nsec directly, which no one does (and no one should do). Coracle also supports public groups (nip 72 communities), so if you're not logged in with your nsec, that's all you have right now.
My top priority is to get NIP 44 support merged into nostr:nprofile1qqsyv47lazt9h6ycp2fsw270khje5egjgsrdkrupjg27u796g7f5k0spz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhszxthwden5te0wfjkccte9eekummjwsh8xmmrd9skctcpzamhxue69uhkzarvv9ejumn0wd68ytnvv9hxgtcyflj58 and nos2x, at which point things will start to make more sense. And of course I'll be constantly tweaking the UX to make it less disorienting.
Sorry to nostr:nprofile1qqsx8zd7vjg70d5na8ek3m8g3lx3ghc8cp5d9sdm4epy0wd4aape6vspz9mhxue69uhkummnw3ezuamfdejj7qghwaehxw309aex2mrp0yh8qunfd4skctnwv46z7qgkwaehxw309ajkgetw9ehx7um5wghxcctwvshsmdghv9 and everyone else who tried the feature to surprising results.
fyi. I am currently researching the NIP and I would like to also have it in Alby asap.
Big fan of nip 44, but it came just as I got nip04 working in NVault it obsoleted it, so Im back to work unfortuantly.
I tried a private group on my test account.I am looking forward to the day when alby and nos2x will support nip-44.
Oh, it seems I missed something, will test the groups feature later
Explain for the #newbie masses why no one should log into a nostr client with their nsec directly
Your nsec is your account. Evil clients can steal it, dumb clients can let other people steal it.
How does one log in without using their nsec directly?
Either by using a Nostr browser extension or a nsecbunker are 2 common ways
