I've said it before, but I think the hyper-focus I get from autism has made me a better software engineer than I'd otherwise have been.  I don't want (as your parents would see it) fixing.

Given the strong hereditary component of autism, it's at least possible that one of your parents is autistic without knowing it:

 @dac6ea10 Well… I have considered it, but they’re both quite happy to lie and manipulate, so I don’t think so.
