I used to think the Nostr community was full of geeks with at least a basic grasp of networking. But now I have to break it down: Haveno is brainwashing everyone and spreading some seriously dangerous misinformation about their so-called 'decentralized' network. Spoiler alert: it’s just a simple LAN network with all the same old networking rules.

When I use the term 'LAN network' I actually mean 'haveno network'
When I use the term 'laptops' I actually mean 'nodes'
When I use the term 'trusted VPN' I actually mean 'trusted software'
When I use the term 'communicate' I actually mean 'trade'
When I use the term 'Wi-Fi password' I actually mean 'fees'

# 6 Simple Networking Rules:

1. At home, I have a large 'LAN network' that connects many 'Laptops' via Wi-Fi. Every month, I add more 'Laptops'.

2. Unfortunately, the 'Laptops' in my 'LAN network' can’t 'communicate' with other 'LAN networks' because it’s isolated from the internet by a firewall similar to the one in China.

3. If yo want to access my 'LAN network' from the outside world, you’ll just have to install my 'VPN'. As the VPN provider, I’ll be logging all your communications. So, you might want to be super careful about who you decide to 'communicate' with!

3. My 'LAN network' isn’t decentralized, but the 'Laptops' connected to it can 'communicate' with each other in a way that resembles peer-to-peer (p2p). However, all the traffic still goes through the 'LAN network', so it’s not truly p2p like on the normal internet.

4. You only need 2 'Laptops' to 'communicate' within my 'LAN network'.

5. I am the network administrator, which means I have full control over my 'LAN network'.

6. Occasionally, I need to change the 'Wi-Fi password' to a new number, and all the 'Laptops' in my 'LAN network' must use the updated 'Wi-Fi password' to continue being able to 'communicate' with each other.
