Trust the science.

That statement is the antithesis of science and it is the general attitude I've seen from academics.

True scientific inquiry isn't as popular as it once was, in my opinion.

 This is wonderful. OK, then, please go ahead with the "verify, don't trust" mantra. It gives me hope that with enough passion and compassion, I can pill people even though they have no chance in hell to understand how Bitcoin works.
