The unacknowledged fear of (ego)death causes people to do the stupidest, most destructive things. To create a truly peaceful society, we all must learn to accept our mortality and fallibility one way or another.
 Will never happen
 This is the way
Hard to accept mortality when the underlying system we exist in is based on theft. High time preference behavior permeates all things. Coming to terms with our finite lifespans is low time preference.
You sound unhappy. There is no real need for a great bitcoin commentator turned mediocre philosopher.
You’re free to unfollow me! I assure you I’m not unhappy 😄

Yes. The core teaching of most religions, whether obscured, like Christianity, or explicit, like Buddhism.
I don’t think it’s in human nature to exist in a truly peaceful society. The historical evidence doesn’t support it.
Ego death is terrifying for most as it erases your identity, who you think you are. To completely disassociate from your identity is often described as either dying or just being born. For the prepared it is religious extacy, for the unprepared a living hell.
Most of us will have an approximately 665,736 hours experience on this terrestrial plain. Just under 1/3 of it we’ll spend asleep. So we should all live like we are dying; because we are. Our posts should be meaningful and kind if we can help it 😉for posterity’s sake.
