 So any custodial solution falls into this category as you have to ask for permission. I'm really wondering why they are building such solutions. I do not see a good end here

 Slavery depends on consent, and the customer depositing sats to a money warehouse is a voluntary contract.

The opportunity for theft is not equivalent to actual theft.

Both Cashu and Fedimint are free software. 
Fedi however is non-free as of now.
