I'm 100% on board with this. I track books I've read on goodreads, but don't follow any people or groups and the book recommendations are usually bad. I would immediately start using a nostr powered book tracking and recommendation app.
Yup. I have a few normie friends on goodreads. I I haven't bothered to install it on my new phone. I doubt I will.

I think it would be really weird and cool to see a social graph of book recommendations from nostriches you connect with on the new app. There's also some room for a LLM to be trained to do book recommendations based on the things you've liked and those others you're connected to have liked. I bet it could really broaden one's horizons, if desired. I have so many books in my queue, I'll never run out. Plus I really need to be writing to finish my own book so it can be added at any of these kinds of things in the future. 😅

Oops. Next feature I just thought of: integrating it with the new Alexandria e-reader. All the public domain stuff that will be uploaded to that should be able to be instantly accessed with the app since it's already possible to connect to other nostr kinds. You could build your own classics library seemlessly.
Absolutely. Integrating nostr into fountain has been a game changer for me finding podcast recommendations. This is exactly the kind of use case nostr was built for
Does fountain actually work correctly as a podcast platform, though? I really can't stand an app that crashes all the time in the middle of just playing an audio stream. I'm weird. I don't like the idea of that much nostr on an podcast app, and... AntennaPod is just a better interface and it's 100% reliable.
