Well, some of my favorite books are by Russian authors, and I once thought it would be cool to re read the books in their native language. I also have many Russian girlfriends, so I thought it would be easy to practice with them. So I started listening to Russian music (they have really cool music actually), downloaded some language apps, change the bike and treadmill to Russian language, I watch movies in Russian, from time to time I switch my phone settings to Russian... but I was WRONG! Lol, non of that helped me. I can still hardly read a children's book in Russian, so my hopes of reading Dostoevsky are fading away 😅
A friend of mine is head over heals for a Russian guy, so she's started learning Russian. (She's set on marrying him and giving him 10 children... She doesn't do half-measures. LOL!) She also says it's the hardest thing that she's attempted to learn.
I applaud your effort. I think it will be good for you, so keep it up!
Thank you 😊
Yeah I don’t blame her, Russian men might be the MOST romantic and MOST generous men I’ve ever encountered. But for sure having a Russian boyfriend should help her learn.
The few Russians I've met were decidedly not that, but, I'm not a woman, so... I'm sure I was treated differently. 😂
Yeah with men they are tough, somewhat cold. However with women 😍 they treat us like queens 👸!!!
That's not a bad thing. Not at all. :)
Hmm well those are all good efforts for sure! It's just so difficult learning a language like that if you can't practise it everyday, of are in the country surrounded by it.
You should definitely keep it up imo. Learning those difficult languages is really good for the brain 🧠. From what I heard in russian, the meaning inbetween the words is even more difficuly to learn than individual words 🤔
Absolutely, I'm determined to persist with learning Russian, even if I don't achieve fluency, the mental exercise is incredibly beneficial for my brain.
The Russian language has this unique ability to manipulate words creatively, which I think significantly contributes to their rich and profound literature. This linguistic artistry is fascinating and beautiful.
