nostr:npub16uk4yyw47haxwl0klhh7lcx3qatkyqmpc6gc4hwru3qedaeuueeqqkpv7k if I self hosted using my in house server I would likely run out of bandwidth on my rural broadband link, esp if what I was hosting got popular. I'd have to at least pay for a fixed ip address, not sure if those are still pricey.
So what I do is run syncthing which does peer to peer over my local wifi, syncing key dirs across my devices. It doesn't help w email etc but it gets me off using GDrive when all I want is sync. Doesn't work when I'm out either but not a real problem.
