Not a happy way to end an otherwise good day. I had many applications open and my iMac wasn’t being very responsive, not even to let me kill off apps. So eventually I gave up and held down the power button to force it to restart. Now when it restarts, the progress bar gets about halfway across… and just stays there. 🙁 I have tried restarting it again and.. same thing. Any suggestions from other iMac or Mac users? (It’s a 2017 iMac running IOS 13.something) https://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/111/134/454/194/149/144/original/4010bd8ef016ea88.jpeg
@9b033548 In my (somewhat limited) experience, that sort of error is usually drive/storage related. If you have a replaceable drive, not soldered, you might be able to just throw a new drive in & perform a Migration from the existing drive to fix it. This is pretty much all a guess though...
@9b033548 Try resetting the NVRAM https://www.ifixit.com/Wiki/How_to_reset_NVRAM_and_PRAM_on_a_Mac
