As countries from BRICS and regions including Middle East and Asia increase the usage of alternative currencies for cross border transactions, the importance of US dollars is decreasing. This can be seen especially in the oil markets where Saudi Arabia is now allowed to sell oil in any other currency their prefer. This imposes substantial threat to the US dollar.
