They also say you have to 'pay in crypto to use nostr'. I think this is partly some of them being deliberately disingenuous and their usual snarky 2010 twitter tone. And partly cos the nip05 verification thing is confusing.

But I wonder how that message spreads and how effective it is to put people off 

 One person claimed to be outraged at BS admins banning a Palestinian doctor.

Said person laughed off nostr because “cryptobros”. 

My assessment is that this person cares not about Palestinian doctors, nor censorship resistance.

That said, I think many BS people would be open to learning they have been misled about nostr. 

Nostr marketing is worse than $23M Bluesky psy-ops for some folks, today. 

 So wrong and frustrating. Yes, there’s a bitcoin and conspiracy slant but plenty that isn’t.
