She worked two jobs while staying at her parents house in Willard Missouri, sent her music to every label she could, made music that was a niche in the industry (lesbian pop music), opened for olivia rodrigo (and was hated for the whole tour), but kept going :,).
She used to sing at my local country fair, I remember seeing her sing when I was in hs. To a crowd of nobody, just her and a keyboard. I can’t believe she made it this far
she still uses that same keyboard at her shows now too 😭.
very much a huge inspiration for me, I want the courage to perform my music live one day. Seeing another girl in Missouri make it is so insane.
do you preform these days? make a video for nostr to practice with an audience!
i’ll play a piano cover of something if you’ve got requests to support you in solidarity 😅
You’re the best :,) Let’s work it out!
I’m working up to be able to, I have the worst stage fright and just freeze up. My brother has been helping me conquer my fears, he performs live shows 5 times a week, idk how he does it 😭
love these kinds of stories 💜
Love this too!!
she’s getting a lot of hate for rejecting a white house performance for pride, but her intentions are entirely pure and for a good cause.
aren’t they incredible! these days with the constant influx of nepotism/wealthy kids who don’t have to work hard for a foot in the day, it’s crazy seeing a girl from a low income family in the middle of no where become so popular!
