BEAMTE DER "GARDA" UNTER DRUCK

◼️ Jeder Polizeiwagen eine Adresse für Protest. Monatelang konnte sich Premierminister Leo Varadkar von Fine Gael auf die Garda verlassen, wenn es darum ging, die Proteste gegen die rasant wachsende Zahl von Hotels zu unterdrücken, die geschlossen und zu Refugee-Herbergen gemacht wurden. Heute Nacht wird es für die Garda eng: die Iren sagen "Danke".
◼️ Ob es sich bei den derzeit in der Dubliner Innenstadt brennenden Autos auch um Polizeifahrzeuge handelt ist schwer zu sagen. Aber ganz offensichtlich hat der feige Messerangriff auf irische Kinder heute das Fass zum Überlaufen gebracht. 
◼️ In Irland kann sich noch Protest zeigen. In den Ländern des europäischen Festlands scheint das derzeit kaum noch möglich zu sein. In Frankreich und der Bundesrepublik gibt es solche Bilder aktuell nur bei sog. Gaza-Protesten.

"GARDA" OFFICIALS UNDER PRESSURE

◼️ Every police van an address for protest. For months, Prime Minister Leo Varadkar of Fine Gael could rely on the Garda to quell protests against the rapidly growing number of hotels being closed and turned into refugee hostels. Tonight it's going to be tight for the Garda: the Irish say "thank you".
◼️ Whether the cars currently burning in Dublin city center are also police vehicles is hard to say. But clearly the cowardly knife attack on Irish children today has been the straw that broke the camel's back. 
◼️ There may yet be protest in Ireland. In the countries of mainland Europe, this hardly seems possible at the moment. In France and the Federal Republic of Germany, such images can currently only be seen at so-called Gaza protests.
