 Not to be a Scientologist because mental healthcare is real and vital but who are the absolute least helpful kind of doctors and why is it always psychiatrists
 They’re incredibly effective at getting paid though
 @53de482a honestly for me it is chiropractors, literally never came away feeling like anything meaningful and long lasting was done. It feels like taking PTO and just coming back to the same shitshow but now you're more behind because, PTO
 @53de482a Because we're as broken and fallible as everybody else, the only difference is we try and make something good of it I suppose. Leading someone out of distress isn't an easy thing.
 @53de482a I saw a podcast yesterday where they were talking about licencing numbers? I'm not 100% sure if it was psychiatry or psychology, but apparently the lower the license number the longer they've been practicing. So someone with a very low number on their license is more likely to have "dinosaur ideas". So if you need care from someone who's benefitted from recent understanding, you want someone with a higher license number
 @53de482a I’ve never seen a psychiatrist but I’ve had a few good psychologists/therapists before.
 @53de482a Psychiatrists are funded by big pharm. You want to be a pill popper your whole life or you want to figure out what's troubling you and grow from there?
Get a psychologist instead, or even just a therapist with a skillset in your mindset. You'll be much better off.
I'm no doctor, though.
 @53de482a with very few exceptions, they don’t use longitudinal medical records, they can’t be bothered to properly titrate medications, they don’t work in interdisciplinary care teams, they are overly reliant on spectrum disorders rather than clinical differentiation. They think that talking is the best/only diagnostic tool.
