 You're right! 
In the past I was offered free tickets to such conferences and I didn't even go. 
I can talk with some of these speakers online in all quietness and in private. No need to try to talk with them in an overcrowded setting. 
Just save your sats and go later on a real vacation or in your case, buy that dream car You always wanted. 😁
