Of course I was sleeping so that was pretty easy. 

So far just chewing regular gum is kinda helping?? Because it gives that minty burning feeling 
 I find just having a toothpick in your mouth can help too

 I thought I'd never kick the shit either, It seemed impossible after 20 years of smoking. But I managed by vaping and gradually reducing the amount of nicotine in there. I know it's gay but it worked! I ended up vaping without any nicotine for about a year, and eventually I stopped vaping altogether. Hope you find a method that works for you. 
 Never understood smoking...glad to see you're making the change! 
 I've been chewing a pack of gum every 3 days. It works. My wife warns me so much gum can cause diarrhea, but that's just a myth.

 I smoked for around 4 years, and I quit and failed multiple times. somehow, the way I quit was just that I woke up one morning, and I thought Hell I dont want the first thing I do every morning to lighting up a cig for the rest of my life. some how I managed to quit just from that 
 Quitting smoking is fuckinghard. Good on ya. 
 Nicotine gum is even better because you calm the craving and it’s nasty. You have to trick yourself into engaging a disgust response to smoking
