No. I don't want every message on the planet to go through Google servers.

This is not good. 
 Google's version is end to end encrypted. Apple decided to not implement that. That's the bad part. If you text an apple user, your data is in the clear. 
 Google wants all RCS messsging to run through their servers. That is BS. 
 RCS encryption on Android is not part of the RCS protocol, it's part of the Google Messages app. https://support.google.com/messages/answer/10262381?hl=en
