Atheism is a gateway drug to communism.

That’s why one of the first things communist regimes do, after taking away people’s guns and eliminating political opponents, is stomp out religious activity.

Statist regimes do not want any ideological competition.

Religious people tend to follow their own inner compass, rather than the edicts of mortal authority figures.

Therefore, religious people are a threat to the statists in power.

You’ll notice people like Sam Harris start out as rational atheists, who support free speech, and generally have common sense stances.

Then, as soon as a “crisis” emerges, all reason goes out the window and fear takes hold. Calls for greater levels of authoritarianism follow. There is a growing sense that people can’t be trusted, and they must be put in their place by the authoritative state that knows best.

Contrast this with religious folks who typically care more about doing what is right than what is expedient.
The areas where protestant American culture is still strong have very little crime. The areas where atheism is common have rampant crime.
 Case in point.
Spot on with Sam. Heard a clip @adamcurry played on #noagenda about how the government should break into people’s houses and hold down people that don’t get a jab 💉

😳😳😳

Still exploring spiritual/religious part without the abuse and corruption. Meditation, breathing and bodywork is going well for me so far though 🤙
 Glad to hear it.

And yes Adam Curry is great
This is why the freedom movement that ended Communism in Eastern Europe started in Poland: it was the only regime that allowed religion (Catholicism) to be left mostly untouched.
 Good point.
How lost and boring and tedious life must be without the quest to understand your higher self or the mysteries of the universe! I can see why these people are desperate.
Atheism is a gateway drug to communism? Oh brother.
The real Alan watts was a taoist right?
Hence he knew the lesson of live and let live.
What you're preaching is a bit different.
As long as the Christians are not neocons and don't want to use authoritarian measures to incentivize good moral behavior.

Voluntarism and private property rights (aka Anarcho-Capitalism) are the closest thing to a Christian form of governance (not to be confused with "Government")
