Alright #GrapheneOS securitoors… how do you guys and gals utilize the different user accounts? Awesome feature, but not sure how best to organize it. #asknostr #android
Create an account called Kids and put all of your Bitcoin apps there.
😂 “Dad I’m bored” “Son stop complaining or I’ll make you learn how to use freedom tech”
🤣😂🤣
Are you using a signing app like Amber for Amethyst or input your nsec?
I switched to using Amber to sign, works like a charm.
My primary account includes only F-Droid apps and a few that I sideload that don't depend on Google Services. I spend 98% of my time here. I have a secondary user account with sandboxed Google Services installed and a handful of apps that require it.
So basically anything that requires google login, keep together on one account?
Some apps require Google Services and won't function without it. Most often it seems to be for notifications but it can be for other things as well. As an example I sideload the Twitter app. It works 100% except for notifications which is cool with me. Other apps just won't work without Google Services but I find that most do minus notifications.
Admin - locked down Me - superficial stuff to show "the man" Social Google stuff Work Private Fin 1 - fiat banking & insurance stuff Fin 2 - btc stuff Games Minimum permissions necessary for each one. Fingerprint unlock on Me, scrambled pins on the rest. Next time I'll probably reduce those, but it's not enough of a hassle to go in now and start combining them.
Nice, I think I’ll do something similar but with a few less profiles. When you say your Admin profile is locked down, what does this mean exactly?
It's the original profile that is created by default and I use it only for updates. If there is an option that I can turn off in it that doesn't carry over and break the use profiles, it's off. I've never opened the browser or phone or any other apps while in the admin profile.
