The Friday afternoon strike was the latest in a series of massive explosions targeting leaders of the militant group, which has been firing rockets and drones across Lebanon's southern border into Israel for almost a year.
The airstrike, which occurred on Friday, resulted in the deaths of several senior Hezbollah officials, including a top commander. Reports indicate that the operation was part of Israel's broader strategy to respond to persistent attacks from Hezbollah into Israeli territory over the past months. The Israeli military has intensified its airstrikes in Lebanon, aiming to dismantle Hezbollah's operational capabilities and leadership structure
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported that the airstrike was executed while Hezbollah leadership was meeting at their headquarters. This operation is part of Israel's ongoing military actions against Hezbollah, which it considers a significant threat due to its ties with Iran and its military capabilities.
